Influenced by German Expressionism, this exhibition challenges the boundaries of perception. It invites viewers to experience the forest not just as a place, but as a reflection of the human condition in all its raw, expressive power.
Kara Morrison is a Melbourne based artist. She has recently explored and developed an Abstract Expressionism style of the Dandenong Ranges. In 2022 she completed her Diploma of Visual Arts at the Northern College of Arts and Technology in Melbourne. She was finalist in the Gosford Art Prize in 2020 with her self-portrait Raw and a finalist in the John Dudley Portrait Prize in 2019 and 2023. Kara won the Best Oil and Acrylics category of The Emerald Arts Society Annual Art Prize in 2023, for Her Song, an abstract expressionist piece based on the Dandenong Ranges.
