Our mission is to provide affordable spaces for artists to share their unique perspectives and for art lovers to discover new work for their collections. We continue activations as a not for profit collective with our committee to promote our works online and in pop up events or field days.

Our History

Founded in 2023, by Jacqui Christians, UP GALLERY SASSAFRAS

has been a cornerstone space for our local art community to exhibit. We have hosted over 26 exhibitions and events, featuring over 64 artists from the Dandenong Ranges region.

In 2025 we closed to be online only & to activate popups or group shows.

COLLAGE GROUP SHOW

Artwork submissions accepted from all local artists for a

COLLAGE GROUP EXHIBITION

The term collage derives from the French term papiers collés (or découpage), used to describe techniques of pasting paper cut-outs onto various surfaces. It was first used as an artists’ technique in the early twentieth century.

Collage can also include other media such as painting and drawing, and contain three-dimensional elements.

Maximum artwork size 80x80cm framed

-this is mixed media 2D collage works only.

One entry per artist over 18.

ENTRIES CLOSE SEPTEMBER 20.

Exhibitor works due Tuesday 1 October,

The exhibition opens Thursday 3 October.

$44 exhibition fee if selected for the 3 week exhibition.

ENTRIES CLOSE JULY 20!

Maximum framed size 100x100cm.

Black and white or colour photography accepted, open theme.

Image suitable for display in public gallery with viewers under 18.

Image can be digitally or dark room manipulated/altered or collaged. No AI generated part or whole images accepted.

Images can be printed digitally inkjet printed on photography paper fine art paper or darkroom silver-gelain print, c type print, polaroid print, colour lab processed.

A $44 exhibition fee applies if selected for this 4 week exhibition.

Exhibited works delivered on Tuesday 23 July,

for exhibition opening night on Thursday 25 July.

Still Life themed exhibition. Maximum framed size100 x100cm.

All mediums 2D works. I entry per artist over 18.
